1.2.1.1 The Ambiguity of words

Take for instance the word pollution this is a common buzz word today.

What does a polluted river mean??

Does it mean that we cannot drink it,
does it mean we cannot wash in it
does it mean that fish cannot live in it etc. etc.

Similar words are traffic congestion, inflationary economy etc. etc.

Ambiguity in words is not bad thing.
It is what poets and writers use to create their images but it is not good for science.
This is where mathematics is useful. Consider, for example, Algebra.
