The basis of old style thinking system has been effective i.e. increase in
technical progress
CONSEQUENCES
- preserves ideas
- leads to sharp and artificial polarisation
- contradictions are not allowed - the error of an opposite view
proves the
correctness of the opposite view
- proceeds from one certainty to the next to arrive at correct
conclusion
- leads to arrogance - my idea is right thus yours is wrong
- if something breaks the rules - it is rejected
- for change to come about current idea has to be rejected
Education is based on YES/NO
- effective way of transmitting knowledge
- encourages DOGMA
- need to be
right
