Lennukit asusid pärast õhkutõusu jälitama ka Portlandist startinud hävitajad F15. Ametnike kinnitusel ühtegi reisijat lennukil polnud ja piloot kukutas selle merre. Lennuk oli kuni 78-kohaline Bombardier Q400, teatas Horizoni Airi partnerlennufirma Alaska Airlines. Washingtoni osariigis aset leidnud juhtum ei ole terrorirünnak, kinnitas sündmuspaiga politsei.
